We are a comparison service

Energy Friend is not your retail electricity provider or delivery utility. The current app compares residential plans and sends you to the provider for enrollment. We do not automatically switch you.

A service built to earn its keep

Energy Friend is being developed as a for-profit service. Self-service comparisons are free. A managed membership is planned at a proposed $9 per month per home; paid subscriptions are not active in this preview. You’ll see the price and terms before choosing a paid service.

Helping with power bills

We plan to use part of the business’s earnings to support households that need help with electricity bills. The funding formula and assistance program are not yet active. We’ll publish the terms and actual amounts distributed when they are in place.

How provider commissions fit

Free comparisons have no Energy Friend membership fee. Our business model combines provider commissions with fees for optional management. Current partner arrangements are listed below and identified with the relevant offers. Provider payments won’t buy a higher ranking, hide a better eligible offer, or justify a switch that doesn’t suit you.

Which plans we compare

We compare the offers for which we have pricing evidence. Our results do not cover every Texas plan. A provider’s presence in these results does not imply a paid relationship with us.

The provider confirms the offer

Check the provider’s final price, eligibility, deposit, available start date and contract documents. Prices can change before enrollment. Use the qualifications beside each comparison rather than assuming every amount is an all-in price.
